Driving Business Performance with Deltek and Alirrium

In 2018, BSK moved to the Deltek Cloud as part of its digital transformation strategy, removing the need to upgrade costly hardware and manage complex servers.

"Deltek has taken on our security, upgrades, updates, licensing and infrastructure responsibilities," says Kris. "Not only does this save on system management costs, but the cloud makes everything much more accessible and scalable."

BSK also selected Alirrium, a Deltek Marketplace Partner, to provide end-to-end RPA with its UiPath solution. It now runs 11 automation instances and will introduce more as part of its competitive strategy.

"We get the ideal marriage of technologies with Deltek and Alirrium," says Kris. "They've helped us automate our processes quickly and we consider them as much members of our team as we do consultants."

BSK is also integrating two modules within the Deltek Talent Management solution—Acquisition and Performance and Development—to help onboard new hires faster, manage employee performance and improve workforce engagement and development.

"We managed to get the Performance and Development module implemented and adopted in approximately six weeks; it was awesome," says Kris. “We are also moving into the second phase of integration with Deltek Talent Acquisition and we’re super excited about the possibilities that it brings our HR group.”

As a past user of Deltek Vision, BSK chose to upgrade to Deltek Vantagepoint in 2021, giving them an opportunity to revisit key processes and improve project collaboration.

"We reflected on our challenges and opportunities and redesigned how we manage the project lifecycle around them," says Tim Rodriguez, Chief Operating Officer of Engineering Services. “We also asked our project management team to engage more directly with Deltek to ensure everyone understood how to get the most out of it.”

Using Vantagepoint, BSK has unlocked a single source of truth, enabling them to track valuable business metrics and get real-time data for more strategic decision making.

"Deltek Vantagepoint is a very important part of our overall operational process," says Tim. "It's at the core of every project from start to finish, including any additional software we integrate, such as daily reporting and laboratory support. It's there at every level."

Tim highlights how Vantagepoint is helping BSK manage its California High Speed Rail contract by controlling all project data in a single, unified platform.

“It’s a really unique project with three different pay mechanisms to compensate our staff,” says Tim. "Managing different wage determinations and billing structures can be tough, but Vantagepoint lets us manage everything seamlessly—from project setup and timecard entry, right through to final billing."

What's Next for BSK Associates And Deltek?

Looking to the future, BSK is looking at expanding its existing Deltek investment through additional integrations and capabilities to further simplify and connect its project operations.

"What's next for BSK is Deltek integrations," says Kris. "We're looking forward to how it will help us integrate all the different products we use into one seamless process."

"I'd like us to use Vantagepoint's mobile CRM capabilities and get our team more aggressively utilizing those tools. It's an exciting time to be working at BSK," adds Tim.
