A Summer of Innovation & Growth: How Deltek’s Interns Are Making an Impact

This summer, over 20 college interns from across the country joined Deltek, each bringing a unique perspective and a set of skills to our team. Their fresh viewpoints and innovative approaches are helping to diversify our thinking and reimagine how we power project success.

Our interns are not just here to observe—they're rolling up their sleeves and diving into critical projects. From enhancing our user experience (UX) design to assisting our project-based customers, their contributions are making a lasting impact. The real-world experience they gain being part of an industry-leading company is invaluable, and the results of their hard work speak volumes about their dedication and potential.

One of the most rewarding aspects of our internship program is the two-way learning experience it provides. Each intern is paired with an experienced professional who guides them through the complexities of their role and a peer partner who helps them navigate working at Deltek. But it’s not just about imparting knowledge—our leaders often find themselves discovering new ways of thinking from their interns. This exchange of ideas creates a dynamic learning environment that benefits everyone involved.

“Deltek's internship program offers college students an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience and contribute fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm to our organization. It helps students transform theory into practice and ambition into achievement, while fostering growth, innovation and continuous improvement for our customers.”

Why Intern at Deltek?

Recognized as a Top Employer for Interns by the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership earlier this year, we believe in investing in our interns because they are the future of our industry. Many of our past interns have gone on to join us full-time, bringing their internship experience into their new roles to continue to drive innovation. Here are just a few reasons why our interns chose to be part of #TeamDeltek this summer:

Emily Chang—UX Design & Operations Intern

"I chose Deltek for my internship because I wanted to learn how to design towards innovation in the project lifecycle across industries. I was also drawn to Deltek’s commitment to fostering a collaborative, understanding environment centered around continuous learning.

During my internship I’ve come to understand a lot more about how the design thinking process and UX principles can be applied to a wide range of projects. I am excited to have gained such valuable real-world experience in navigating ambiguity in design issues and I feel more prepared to make a meaningful impact alongside various teams as a UX’er and problem solver."

Corey Coogan—Customer Success Intern

"When searching for an internship, I knew I wanted something close to home with the flexibility to go into the office and experience the company culture firsthand. After speaking with current employees about how Deltek takes care of its team, I felt it was the perfect fit for me—and my experience has been great!

Being part of the Customer Success team has taught me to be independent, act professionally in a work environment, expand my knowledge of software and tools essential for success, and understand how each business unit contributes to Deltek."

Prajusha Reddy—DevOps Intern

"I chose Deltek for my internship again after working here last summer because of the company’s values and dedication to its employees and customers. My internship has been great because I’m able to gain experience in my line of work, but also able to explore other possible paths with the help of my manager and the Intern Summer Speaker series.

Being part of the DevOps team has given me the opportunity to meet and connect with many wonderful people with loads of advice to help prepare me for my future career, as well as lasting life lessons."

Iris Guo—Customer Care Operations Intern

"Deltek stood out to me because I really wanted to intern for a company where my work could make a tangible impact. The projects I've been involved in directly contribute to my team's objectives, which is exactly what I was looking for in an internship experience.

Working in Customer Care has taught me not to shy away from diving into the unknown and not to be afraid to make mistakes. This internship has helped me continue to build on my technical skills while also gaining insights into Deltek products, understanding consumer needs better, and learning effective strategies to address them."

Bowdoin College, Economics & Computer Science

Jared Sacquitne-Darrington—Payroll Services Intern

"The warm and welcoming atmosphere I encountered during my interview and follow-up made my decision to intern at Deltek an easy one. From the very start, I felt valued and excited to join a team that genuinely cares about its employees. The managers are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist with anything I need.

Interning on the Payroll Services team has taught me how to adjust to different work environments. Before joining Deltek, I had never experienced remote work. Now, I feel confident and well-prepared for future opportunities that involve remote collaboration."

Truman State University, Accounting & Business Administration

Brittany Dieterle—Global Partners & Alliances Intern

"Interning at Deltek has given me a comprehensive view of how a global company operates. I am particularly inspired by the Global Partners & Alliances team, where I am working on diverse projects spanning sales, partnerships, operations and recruitment.

The structured internship has provided me with hands-on opportunities to develop the practical skills and confidence needed to pursue a successful career in global partnerships. Collaborating with such experienced and supportive colleagues is incredibly motivating, as each new challenge fuels my passion and enthusiasm for working in this field."
