Allyship in Action: How We Support Each Other at Work

Allyship involves proactively supporting individuals and is fundamental in fostering a workplace environment where respect, inclusivity and support are paramount. Effective allyship is rooted in empathy, awareness and a commitment to continuous learning and understanding.

In today's radpidly changing workspaces, allyship behaviors contribute significantly to the well-being and professional growth of employees. When employees feel supported and valued, they are more likely to thrive in their careers. Empowerment involves creating opportunities for growth, providing resources and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Deltek supports actions and practices that promote understanding. Here are a few areas that showcase our support/allyship of employees:

Key Allyship Behaviors

  • Active Listening: One of the most crucial aspects of allyship is the ability to listen actively. This involves not just hearing words but understanding the emotions, struggles and perspectives behind them. By listening with empathy, allies can validate experiences and provide meaningful support.
  • Education and Self-Reflection: Continuous education, connection and awareness building is vital for effective allyship. Self-reflection allows everyone to recognize the power of their voice and actions that helps everyone to thrive.
  • Amplifying Voices: Amplifying the voices of all is a powerful allyship behavior. This ensures that experiences and perspectives are heard and valued.
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate allyship behaviors in our daily interactions. By setting an example, we can inspire all to follow.

Empowering Employees to Thrive

  • Professional Development: We offer opportunities for learning and development. This includes workshops, seminars, access to educational resources and relationship building programs such as coaching, formal and informal mentoring to help employees navigate their careers.
  • Career Enhancement: Provide clear pathways for career advancement. Ensuring that all employees have access to resources and opportunities that help them in showcasing and building skills and experiences to support their professional endeavors.
  • Supporting Wellness: Deltek offers employees many resources to support their health and well-being including our employee assistance program (EAP). In addition, we offer volunteer time off (VTO) to allow employees to release positive energy in their communities.
  • Building Community: Employees can join in activities offered through our regional well-living team program which promotes health and wellness through connection, education, support, initiatives and FUN.

    In addition, we have 10 employee resource groups (ERGs) where employees can connect with others who share similar experiences/backgrounds and their allies. The groups are open to all employees. June is an especially special time for our ERGs as we celebrate Pride Month and Juneteenth.Our global programming centers on building community and allyship.

  • Recognition & Rewards: At Deltek, we love to recognize the achievements and contributions of employees. Rewards and acknowledgments boost morale and motivation while reflecting our winning workplace culture.
