Deltek Project Nation recently came together at Deltek Insight 2021 for the largest gathering of project-focused professionals − to virtually learn, share and network on how to power project success. During our 14th annual customer conference, experts delivered hundreds of sessions focused on Deltek solutions, technology innovation and transformation trends for project-based businesses. 

So whether you joined us LIVE at Deltek Insight or are planning on attending the on-demand experience, here is a recap of the five key takeaways from this year’s industry-leading event:

#1 Purposeful Innovation Powers Project Success

Deltek is committed to driving purposeful innovation through our industry-specific solutions by making our products easier to use while helping our customers achieve greater business efficiency and productivity. “We have to make sure that we’re not operating just behind our customers, but actually operating just ahead – so they can rely on us to be the partner to deliver the thought leadership that they need,” shared Mike Corkery during his opening keynote at Deltek Insight.

A shining example of our continued pursuit to empower AEC firms through emerging technology is the launch of Deltek Specpoint − a revolutionary next-generation specification management solution. Unveiled during Insight, this collaborative, all-in-one specification tool enables architects, engineers, and specifiers to write construction specifications efficiently. Another innovative way we are meeting our customers’ needs is with our recent acquisition of ArchiSnapper. This mobile field application, specifically designed for architects and engineers, takes the hassle out of drafting architectural field reports – and gives users the tools they need to help power their project success.

Purposeful innovation is also making its way into our government contracting solutions, with the relese of GovWin IQs SmartFit Scoring feature. This intelligent tool leverages the power of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to help identify federal procurements that have the greatest probability of winning and source the best opportunities for your business. 

In addition to these innovative new product offerings, Insight attendees heard how purposeful innovation continues to enhance Deltek’s existing product portfolio through investments in business automation for Costpoint 8.1; improvements to the customer experience in WorkBook 13; as well as roadmap developments for Vantagepoint 4.5 and beyond. Each of our industry-leading solutions offered dedicated Product Kickoff sessions at Insight − all of which are now available on-demand.

#2 New Offerings Enable Customers to Streamline Their Business

Digital transformation continues to be at the forefront of everything we do at Deltek. To guide customers on their journey of streamlining their business Warren Linscott, Deltek’s Chief Product Officer, and Mike Scopa, SVP of Engineering, shared first-hand several exciting new offerings added to Deltek’s product portfolio during Insight 2021.

No longer do we just have to supply the functionality that lets our customers get their job done. It has to work well, and it has to have a great user experience. One way we are doing that is with the launch of Deltek Payments, a suite of financial tools that helps government contractors, architecture and engineering firms, and construction companies move away from manual processes when managing payments. This innovative offering, empowers Deltek customers to accept digital payments, present their customers with integrated payment portals, and to pay suppliers digitally. 

Equally as exciting is the introduction of Deltek’s Integration Platform. An ongoing initiative that will expand and take Deltek’s integration capabilities to an entirely new level by adding a dedicated integration platform to our product portfolio. This new platform will further enable integration capabilities across Deltek’s industry-specific products, and provide integration functionality with and between other end points and best-of-breed solutions.

#3 Deltek Project Nation Does Amazing Things

One of the great things about Insight and bringing Deltek Project Nation together is celebrating our hard-working customer community and recognizing them for their outstanding contributions to the industries that they serve. This year was particularly challenging when it came to picking our MVP Award winners − as so many of our customers continue to amaze us in everything they do.

But it’s not just our winners who are setting the example for project-based businesses, it’s also how the leaders in the industry are running their businesses. During Insight, we were proud to highlight how three women executives are doing just that.

Deltek hosted a virtual panel discussion with these inspiring executives, sponsored by Women at Deltek, as part of our ongoing commitment to support women in the workplace. Susan Boers, Deltek's Vice President of Enterprise and Project Portfolio, moderated the session with Jennifer Felix, President and CEO of ASRC, Federal; Diana Hipp, Deputy CIO of KBR; and Florence Sterlin, President and CEO of DB Sterlin Consulting, who shared their personal experiences in navigating their careers to the C-suite.

#4 Together We Can Make a Difference

Deltek and our employees rally around causes that matter – and one of those causes near and dear to us is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Which is why having actor, singer and songwriter, Charles Esten at Celebrate Insight, was one of the most inspiring moments to take place during this year’s event!

Esten has been a long-time LLS supporter and Light the Night Honorary Chair. Each year, he leads Team Addie, who walks together as part of Light the Night, in honor of his daughter, who survived leukemia when she was 2 ½ years old. This year we’re proud to be helping LLS by joining Esten’s team − Deltek is making a $10,000 donation to honor Team Addie and support those that have been lost, those who are fighting and those who will have to fight this disease in the future.

And one way we are doing that is by taking the complexity out of our products and delivering solutions to meet all the needs of Deltek Project Nation−from small businesses to enterprise customers. During Insight, Corkery shared, “By staying focused on project-based businesses only, allows us to concentrate on delivering thought leadership in areas where we're relevant and things that are relevant for our customers.”

But more than anything, we are committed to powering project success. Corkery went on to say, “We’re more focused on project-based businesses than the vast majority of our competitors, which gives us a clear differentiation in those markets that we're focused on. And where some players who are focused on the same markets we are, we're much bigger and have a lot more resources. So we can deliver greater reach, and a better customer experience.”
