Rapid Delivery of FFCRA and CARES Act Features
Introducing the Deltek + ComputerEase Product Blog
Welcome to the Deltek + ComputerEase Product Blog! The purpose of this blog is to serve as a resource for contractors regarding updates to the Deltek + ComputerEase product. Updates will include news about new features, new offerings, Town Halls, and more.
Features to Meet Payroll Needs during COVID-19
The world is changing fast and with it are changes to legislation that impact how construction companies run their businesses.
The Deltek + ComputerEase Product Task Force is dedicated to accelerating feature delivery so that construction companies have what they need in their software to operate in this environment. Our cross-functional team brings expertise and experience from many disciplines to get contractors the best solution to accommodate these constant and ever-changing circumstances.
In a span of a few weeks, the Product Task Force has built and delivered features to accommodate both the FFCRA (Families First Coronavirus Act) and CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act in the Deltek + ComputerEase software and Payroll Services.
In addition to the features delivered, the Deltek + ComputerEase Product Task Force has developed and supplied training materials such as a dedicated Resource Center with training videos and manuals to guide contractors on how to use these features. For customers eligible for the FFCRA and CARES Act, these features are helping them navigate the changing payroll environment.
“ We at Lawson Air Conditioning & Plumbing in Gainesville, Georgia are highly impressed with how quickly Deltek + ComputerEase programmers implemented the needed payroll related documentation to assist us with compliance with the CARES Act and FFCRA. We were fortunate to be funded within 10 days in the CARES Payroll Protection Program and your update was available on our first payroll after funding. We also have some employees qualifying for the Families First Coronavirus Act (FFCRA). We are all striving to keep up in this fast moving business climate to maintain compliance and provide the best benefit options to our employees as an essential business. I am quite sure other accounting programs are still in the dark! Thanks for staying on top of all the COVID-19 requirements and making these changes easy for us to understand with your video instructions and updates. ”
Debbie Lawson Davis - Owner/CFO, Lawson Air Conditioning & Plumbing Inc.
For private employers with fewer than 500 employees and for certain public employers, the FFCRA provides that employees be provided with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave to the extent an employee is unable to work (or telework) due to COVID-19 reasons outlined on DOL.gov and IRS.gov.
The FFCRA features in Deltek + ComputerEase allow construction businesses that are eligible and applicable to track the new pay types allowed under the new legislation. In addition, the features handle the proper taxing of these new pay types and the associated tax credits allowed.
Now contractors can track FFCRA pay specifically with the new FFCRA Report.
CARES Act Features
The CARES Act builds on prior COVID-19 legislation to provide more robust support to individuals and businesses to include tax policy changes. Contractors can now easily manage the deferral of the employer payroll tax liability per the new CARES Act legislation within Deltek + ComputerEase.
The Product Task Force is dedicated to being proactive with delivering features to accommodate the changing circumstances. However, in the event of changes with short notice (e.g. FFCRA and CARES Act), we are capable of accelerating feature delivery to get contractors what they need when they need it. We anticipate further changes, are already aware of upcoming changes (Q2 2020 941 Form), and are ready and able to address for the construction community.
