However, as the company has grown in recent years, the leadership team soon realized its legacy system was no longer fit for purpose. It simply didn’t meet the needs of a medium-sized business and didn’t have the level of controls required for Applied Insight.

This meant that Applied Insight’s team spent more time and resources on their audits to ensure they were compliant. Their previous system also had a feature that enabled users to change or edit a project number which ultimately prevented traceability and potentially opened the company up to a wide range of compliance challenges. As a leading mid-tier government contractor, one of the government regulations that Applied Insight must comply with is Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). A THREE-MONTH TURNAROUND

“Deltek Costpoint helps us reach our compliance goals with our federal customers,” says Janette Case, Applied Insight’s Accounting Supervisor. “Our decision to change systems was also based on a future look at our company growth—having a system that would allow us flexibility and the capabilities to use other Deltek products going forward.”

With a tight deadline, the company called on the support of trusted Deltek Partner Infotek Consulting for its depth of product and industry knowledge. “Applied Insight had a short turnaround time due to its hosting contracts with prior vendors and it wanted to get things going,” says Infotek’s CEO, Gautam Mehndiratta. He adds: “Both the Infotek and Applied Insight teams were able to work around the clock and pretty much get a turnaround in three months, which helped the company meet its executive leadership needs.”

Applied Insight’s partnership with Deltek was also crucial to the success of the transition. According to the company, Deltek supported them during the sales cycle, through implementation—when it had to import 700 temporary licenses to test its data accuracy during migration to Costpoint—and beyond.
