Review of SpecText Q1 and Q2 2022 Updates

The summer season is upon us, and we will begin seeing those familiar orange barrels as we travel the roadways… Yes, it’s that time of the year for many infrastructure projects to get underway. The Specification Solutions team is doing their part by providing the most up-to-date SpecText guide specifications to support your infrastructure, civil, water, and wastewater projects. Check out the Q1 and Q2 SpecText updates that have been deployed to help you navigate your projects.

What's New in the SpecText Q1 2022 Update?

The SpecText Q1 2022 update is now available to licensed SpecText customers for download from the Updates & Downloads section of the Deltek website. In this first release of the year, three Sections in Division 31 have received full technical updates:

  • 310513 Soils for Earthwork: Section specifies topsoil and subsoil materials referenced by other Sections, generally for fill and grading purposes. This Section now includes subsoil for fill under structures or pavement, soils for exterior improvements, rough grading, trenching and stabilization, reclaimed pavement borrow, lightweight aggregate fill, and imported base loam.
  • 310516 Aggregates for Earthwork: Section specifies coarse- and fine-aggregate materials referenced by other Sections, generally for fill and grading purposes. This Section has been updated to include fill under structures and/or pavement, aggregates for exterior improvements, and stabilization.
  • 310519.13 Geotextiles for Earthwork: Section specifies woven turf reinforcement mats and nonwoven geotextiles for filtration and separation. This Section has been updated to include product attributes to woven turf reinforcement mats and nonwoven geotextiles, and now includes woven geotextiles for erosion control and for paved and unpaved roadways.

In addition, 30 Sections have undergone specification coordination as well as minor revision for improved editing capability.

How to Access the SpecText Q1 2022 Update

SpecText (Word) licensed customers can access the Q1 SpecText update at the Updates & Downloads section of the Deltek website. Also available are SpecText supporting documents, table of contents, and standards organizations found in the User Resources section of our website.

e-SPECS customers licensed for SpecText can access the updated Section list and link to download the update file within the Release Notes.

What's New in the SpecText Q2 2022 Update?

In this second release of the year, two Sections in Division 31 have received full technical updates:

  • 310813 Pile Load Testing: Section specifies pile load testing requirements to supplement piling method Specification Section where testing is a Project requirement. Testing includes static load testing, dynamic testing, pile driving analysis, and the use of wave analysis software programs to calculate static load soil resistance, pile stresses, and pile capacities.
  • 312113 Radon Mitigation: Section specifies passive systems to collect radon gas under basements and slabs on grade, and venting of gas through walls and roof to atmosphere. Section may be edited to specify an active system and is relevant for single family homes and multifamily residences, as well as commercial, institutional, or industrial building use.

In addition, 31 Sections have undergone specification coordination as well as minor revision for improved editing capability.

SpecText (Word) licensed customers can access the Q2 SpecText update at the Updates & Downloads section of the Deltek website. Visit the User Resources section of our website to find SpecText supporting documents, tables of contents, and standards organizations.
