MasterSpec Q3 2022 Updates and Preparing for the Future of MasterSpec

Evidence of this commitment is the quarterly MasterSpec® updates and the evolution of MasterSpec to an intelligent digital format delivered through a state of the art specification authoring and collaboration solution – Deltek Specpoint.

As a reminder, in support of MasterSpec moving to a digital format, after the MasterSpec Q4 2022 quarterly update, scheduled for release on December 30, 2022, updates to MasterSpec content will only be made available digitally via Deltek Specpoint. MasterSpec Q4 2022 Word files will be available for download until at least June 30, 2023. With this upcoming change in mind, let’s review the most recent MasterSpec Q3 2022 updates.

MasterSpec Q3 2022 Updates

The MasterSpec Q3 2022 update contains 47 Sections, 34 of which have received full or selective revisions (Divisions 08, 12, 22-23) to technical content. Also in this release, Section-specific sustainability language has been updated for all LEED v4.1 BD+C and ID+C rating systems throughout Divisions 09 and 10 along with selective removal of retired LEED 2009 language throughout the MasterSpec library.

New MasterSpec Section

The following section is new to the MasterSpec library as of Q3:

• 018113.72 Sustainable Design Requirements - CALGreen Tier 1 specifies requirements and procedures for CALGreen Tier 1 certification, including all mandatory and Tier 1 measures.

MasterSpec Technical Updates

The following MasterSpec sections have received comprehensive technical revisions:

• 087100 Door Hardware (technical revisions incorporate technical standard ISO 4586 Series-2018)
• 087111 Door Hardware (Descriptive Specification) (technical revisions incorporate technical standard ISO 4586 Series-2018)
• 122113 Horizontal Louver Blinds (technical revisions incorporate window covering safety standard ANSI/WCMA A100.1 in time for National Window Covering Safety Month, October 2022)
• 122116 Vertical Louver Blinds (technical revisions incorporate window covering safety standard ANSI/WCMA A100.1 in time for National Window Covering Safety Month, October 2022)
• 226119 Compressed-Air Equipment for Laboratory and Healthcare Facilities

The following sustainability sections were discontinued; where possible, the MasterSpec library has been updated with the LEED v4 equivalent:
