PPM at Deltek ProjectCon 2024: A Monumental Event for PPM Practitioners

"You had to be there" is not what you want to hear when your colleagues return from a work trip. Few conferences offer as much value for your time and investment as Deltek's ProjectCon. The 2024 event was held in National Harbor, Maryland, from November 12-14. This year's ProjectCon was more than just action-packed; it was a whirlwind of networking, fellowship, and learning.

This year had it all. Yes, attendance was at an all-time high, but it only felt like that in the great room (and for those of us who had standing room only in the back of some of the more popular workshops). The positive energy was palpable. "Powering Transformation" was center stage throughout the event. In the general sessions, we heard how Deltek is working, based on customer feedback, on creating the next best thing: powering the (digital) transformation you need to be the best version of yourselves.

Nearly 4,000 people gathered to make that happen. Thousands of project management professionals, industry experts, and Deltek users came together to share insights and learn from one another. Over 300 sessions, workshops and networking opportunities were designed to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Innovations Unveiled

One of the highlights of Deltek ProjectCon 2024 was unveiling several groundbreaking innovations. Deltek Harmony™, the new user experience platform, promises to revolutionize how users interact with Deltek products. Harmony’s intuitive design and seamless integration across the Deltek suite will significantly boost productivity and user satisfaction.

Additionally, Dela™, Deltek’s AI-powered business companion, continues to evolve, offering new capabilities that streamline workflows and enhance decision-making. From generating content to automating tasks, Dela is set to become an indispensable tool for project managers.

Focus on PPM Products

For PPM customers, ProjectCon 2024 began with a meeting of the Customer Advisory Council, or “CAC.” During the CAC, customers of all sizes met with our PPM Product Management to discuss ideas for future product additions and to get a sneak peek of new product features and enhancements on the roadmap for the next year. PPM products are built based on customer feedback, and this is the best method for showcasing the directions Deltek products should take.

After the keynote session, more than 20 sessions and demonstrations were tailored to the needs of those specifically interested in PPM products. Attendees learned about the latest updates and best practices, ensuring they can maximize the value of these powerful solutions.

• Deltek Open Plan: Enhancements to scheduling and resource management capabilities were showcased, highlighting how users can achieve greater efficiency and accuracy in their project planning.
• PM Compass: New features aimed at improving project visibility and control were introduced, making it easier for project managers to stay on top of their tasks.
• Cobra: Updates focused on enhanced compliance and upcoming Deltek Dela capabilities within earned value management, providing users with more robust tools for cost and schedule oversight.
• Acumen Fuse, Risk/360 and Touchstone: Innovations in schedule quality, risk modeling and evaluation were discussed, offering users advanced techniques to optimize their project timelines.
• wInsight Analytics: Enhanced analytics capabilities were unveiled, enabling users to gain deeper insights into their project performance and how to make data-driven decisions.
