#DeltekCares About Blood Cancer Awareness Month

Deltek is a Proud Supporter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

For the past 5 years, Deltek has partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), and has raised more than $165,000 in support of curing blood cancers and improving the quality of life for patients and their families. In 2019 our support continues, as we participate in Blood Cancer Awareness Month, officially designated by Congress in 2010, to raise awareness and funds for life-saving research towards a world without blood cancer.

The statistics may surprise you. Did you know that approximately every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer and more than 14,000 people are diagnosed monthly? This is why blood cancers are the 2^nd leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. and are the most common cancers in children, adolescents and young adults under 20. 

Competing For Good

During September, Deltek will be raising money for LLS through our Light the Night challenge. Light the Night is about bringing together communities to celebrate those who are fighting the disease and to honor those we have lost. To do this, #TeamDeltek employees will participate in a variety of Light the Night Walks across the U.S. and Canada to help raise funds and awareness. Employees in respective business units will challenge each other to get involved and raise funds towards this cause which has likely touched a friend or loved one they know.

Deltek is proud to continue our ongoing support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.  Our employees are committed to LLS’s efforts to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins disease and myeloma – and together, we hope to make “someday” today and see a cure for blood cancers. 

September Brings Awareness

#TeamDeltek is excited to kickoff our efforts and bring awareness to LLS and Light the Night during the month of September, but we can't do it alone. Join us!
