Volunteering To Make a Difference In Our Local Communities

Causes #TeamDeltek Cares About

From donating blood to facilitating elections and supporting children in need − #TeamDeltek is dedicated to volunteering for causes that they are passionate about. As an organization, not only do we recognize how important it is for employees to engage and give back, but we understand how volunteering can greatly impact their health and well-being.

To help employees find the necessary time, Deltek offers a volunteer time off (VTO) program where they can use their office hours to make a positive impact on organizations in their local communities. We are proud to provide this VTO opportunity to Deltek’s more than 3,000 employees worldwide and are honored that they are volunteering to help make a difference.

Dana Middle School PTSA – Arcadia, CA

"As PTSA board member I chaired the Registration Day event for my daughter's middle school in Southern California. I used my Deltek VTO hours to help the PTSA facilitate in-person registration for 650 students at Dana Middle School. With a team of 50 volunteers, we set-up 13 stations with teachers and staff to complete the registration process and get students excited for the 2021-2022 school year. Go Mariners!”

South West Herts Narrowboat Trust – England

"This year I used my Deltek VTO hours to support my work with the South West Herts Narrowboat Trust organization, where I serve as a trustee and chef instructor. As a scout leader, I love being outdoors and helping train youth and community volunteers to skipper the Trusts' narrowboats. I appreciate the time Deltek gives its employees to spend with organizations that they are passionate about."

Loudoun Hunger Relief – Leesburg, VA

Food insecurity is something I care deeply about and is why I chose to spend my VTO time volunteering with Loudoun Hunger ReliefThis organization is an emergency food pantry that provides food supplies and helps prepare nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinners for families in need, which has become especially important during the pandemic. During my shift we prepared boxes that contain nonperishable items such as fruits, vegetables, soups, pasta, tuna fish and cereal. This is my 3rd time volunteering with the organization and I look forward to continuing to volunteer with them in the future.”

Colorado Fetal Care Center – Denver, CO

"My family and I used my Deltek volunteer hours to support an event put on by Children's Hospital in Colorado. This annual gathering is for patients and families served by the Colorado Fetal Care Center, who underwent in-utero surgery for Spina Bifida. Having benefited from the care that Children's Hospital provided my daughter, we look forward to participating each year and being involved in this reunion for patients and families that have undergone this procedure with their team."

Fairfax Co. Office of Elections – Alexandria, VA

“I recently used my Deltek VTO to volunteer as an Election Officer (EO) for the Fairfax County Office of Elections. As an EO I am responsible for setting up voting rooms, checking voters in on the day of the election, providing ballots, helping voters with any issues related to their voter registration, and securing and reporting results at the end of the day. I've been volunteering for political campaigns and voter registration drives since I was in high school and I taught civics and government in a previous career, so serving as an EO feels like a culmination of my volunteerism and my teaching experience. One of the best parts of serving as an Election Officer is helping in my community; I love seeing my neighbors come out to vote."

Silong Tanglaw Foundation –  Philippines

This year I spent my VTO with two friends from Deltek's Makati Billing Team, Cheche Jacela and Cathe Tadlip. We visited Silong Tanglaw Foundation, Inc., a non-government center that houses indigent children ages 9-17. With the pandemic it has been extremely challenging for the center to meet the daily needs of the kids, specifically due to the lack of outreach activities and limited donations. We brought the kids groceries and also ordered pansit for the kids' miryenda (snacks). Our time there went by so quickly, however, volunteering was definitely rewarding experience and we know we made a difference in the kids’ lives. We will definitely be going back.”

Victor Flauta, part of Deltek's Finance team since 2013

Bloodworks Northeast – Seattle, WA

“Several members of the GovWin team utilized our volunteer hours to donate critically needed blood to Bloodworks Northwest. Bloodworks currently supports 90 hospitals in Western Washington and Oregon. VTO is a great to reminder to take time to give back to our local community, and stay connected with each other. I loved the time I got to spend with my co-workers Matthew Barnes and Bryan Martinez, especially since we now all work remotely. We had a great day together and felt good about helping our community in need.”

Christy Nakamoto, part of Deltek Customer Care since 2017

Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps – Dulles, VA

“I spent my VTO hours working at the Loudoun County (VA) COVID Vaccination site located in Dulles Town Center, helping organize and facilitate almost 2000 vaccinations. While I am not a medical professional, there were several opportunities for non-medical personnel to volunteer and assist in the overall process. Volunteering here was a good way for me to support my local community during a time when the county was trying to control the spread of the virus.”

John Burnside, part of Deltek's IT team since 2019

Rocky Mountain Food Bank – Denver, CO

“I used my VTO time to help distribute food for the Rocky Mountain Food Bank at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado. As a volunteer I organized food which had been donated, and packaged it for distribution to 100+ families in the Denver Metro area through a mobile food pantry. We took boxes and repacked them to include a variety of food supplies that would help sustain a family for a least a week. I'm very thankful for being able to participate, even on a cold, snowy Denver day!”
