Leverage Timesheet Assist in Vantagepoint to Make Timesheet Entry Faster and More Accurate

Getting employees to complete their timesheets is a persistent challenge. Despite being crucial for project management and billing, timesheets are often neglected or left until the last minute by technical professionals, whose minds are geared towards creative problem-solving rather than administrative tasks.

Deltek Vantagepoint has introduced Timesheet Assist to help users update their timesheets more efficiently and accurately. This enhancement addresses the challenge of getting users to enter their time more frequently, allowing for better tracking of unposted time on project plans and reports and striving towards submitting timesheets before they are due.

With Timesheet Assist enabled, users will be greeted with a friendly reminder upon logging into Vantagepoint. If necessary, the Timesheet Assist dialog can also be retrieved from within timesheets.

Timesheet Assist also provides some context and details specific to the current timesheet period, such as any approved absences or any company non-work or holidays. These are separate features that can be enabled to auto-populate on timesheets for users.

The core of Timesheet Assist is the Project Suggestions section, which displays projects based on time charged in the previous timesheet, plan assignments that fall within the current timesheet period, or expense lines charged on the user’s expense report within the past 30 days. Users can easily click and select one or more project rows to quickly and easily add to their timesheet.

Similar to activity reminders, users have the option to snooze (in which case, the start-up app will load) or to dismiss the reminder for the current timesheet.

With Timesheet Assist, users will be reminded to update their timesheets more frequently and makes it easier for your teams to get the right projects, phases and tasks on their timesheets, saving you time and effort chasing down timesheets when they’re due and eliminating time wasted correcting timesheets and moving hours.
