Earth Day 2024: Celebrating Sustainability & Making a Difference

How Team Deltek Is Celebrating Earth Day

Here are four of the ways our employees are investing their time and energy in ecological and sustainable activities in support of Earth Day 2024:

Herndon HQ: Roadside Clean-Up

Volunteers from our Herndon headquarters office joined in our spring Roadside Clean-Up Day on April 19 to pick up trash in support of our Deltek’s Adopt-A-Highway program. The Adopt-A-Highway initiative aims to increase the quality of our local environment by decreasing the amount of litter found along our roadsides, a concept that directly aligns with this year’s Earth Day theme, Planet vs. Plastics.

Netherlands: Beach Clean-Up

In the Netherlands Deltek employees are joining, Het Groene Strand a local beach clean-up event on May 31. Their volunteer efforts will go towards removing garbage while ensuring that important natural elements such as seaweed and shells remain on the beaches and working to help restore a beautiful landscape and wonderful natural setting.

Philippines: Local Clean-Up & Baby Turtle Rescue

Deltek Philippines employees recently joined a local clean-up drive and an event for the release of baby turtles. Volunteers at this event worked to protect nesting sites, monitor populations and rescue injured turtles. Releasing baby turtles as part of a global green initiative is a powerful way to support conservation efforts and raise awareness about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.

Additionally, Deltek’s Global Green will host a River Park Clean-Up Day on April 26, removing riverside litter and engaging in waste segregation to ensure that the garbage collected is properly disposed of.

Denmark: Community Clean-Up

Team Deltek volunteers in our Copenhagen office are joining in as a part of a larger national community clean-up (waste collection) in Denmark on April 26. Employees will visit the neighborhood where our Deltek office is located for several hours to clean up the local streets and parks, helping to join the fight for a future with less waste.

Global Green is just one of the many thriving ERG communities we have added over the years, along with Pride at Deltek, Women at Deltek, Black Voices at Deltek and Veterans at Deltek. Our ERGs are an important part of our culture, allowing employees to learn about meaningful topics and come together to share ideas that matter to them.
