Each year the Washington Post unveils its Top Workplaces list highlighting leaders in company satisfaction and engagement, a distinction based solely on the results of employee feedback. For the fifth year, Deltek has been part of this select list, and this year we are proud to be named the #12 Top Large Company in the D.C. Area.

This year’s Top Workplace achievement is especially rewarding, given the personal and professional challenges we’ve all endured over the last year. By staying true to Deltek’s core values, we met the obstacles of the pandemic head-on, giving our 3,000 global employees the support they needed to pivot seamlessly to a remote workforce while remaining 100% operational.

In an effort to continue to put our employees first, we’ve also placed an intentional focus on learning and development in our virtual environment. By being more deliberate with our online education, training and employee resources, we’ve been able to sustain our productivity, provide continuous learning opportunities, and been able to connect and collaborate with one another.

A Growth Mindset

We understand that companies don’t become a great place to work overnight; it’s a mission and a mindset – and for Deltek, it is a commitment we make every day to our employees.

Throughout 2020, we adapted our working model to be responsive to the unique needs of our organization, providing each employee the tools and resources they needed to be more productive, efficient and practice work-life balance. This included the launch of our Thriving Virtually Portal, which gives employees access to Communication, Engagement and Health & Wellness resources – such as webinars hosted by subject matter experts promoting mental health and work-life balance in a virtual environment.

We also recognize that learning is not a one-size-fits-all process. This is why we take great pride in our ability to offer our employees around the globe unique and personalized tools, including LEADx, our new AI-driven prescriptive coaching solution− known as Coach Amanda! Through this innovative application, employees are assessed on behaviors and identify a coaching plan while completing content to reach their individual goals.

These self-paced, career-development tools allow Team Deltek to take advantage of continuous learning when and where it’s convenient to them.

Investing In Our Employees

At Deltek, we encourage each employee to own their career and provide a wide range of training opportunities and professional resources to accomplish this; but ultimately, each employee drives their learning journey.  Incidentally, this begins with our onboarding program on the first day of employment and continues for the duration of their time here.

As part of this journey, we recommend all employees complete 40 hours of learning each year. To help accomplish this goal, employees can take advantage of on-demand learning with self-selected and prescriptive learning solutions, including LinkedIn Learning. In addition, Deltek also offers award-winning leadership development and mentoring programs that welcome multiple cohorts of employees each year to develop leadership qualities aligned to the competencies of their role.

Most importantly, we want our employees to see themselves at Deltek long-term and understand they have career opportunities within our organization. Through participation in Deltek’s Internal Mobility program, employees can navigate their careers horizontally and vertically while preparing to be future leaders. We invite our talented employees to explore opportunities for growth in other departments by taking on new roles and obtaining varied skills.

So, no matter how long an employee has been with us, we promote their development and offer ways to enhance and advance their careers.

Supporting Our Top Workplace

Our employees are our biggest asset and ultimately a key differentiator to our success; by investing in their learning and development, we empower them to be both impactful and engaged in meaningful ways.

I am proud of how we’ve come together this year (virtually, of course) to execute and grow our business − and develop our employees − even during the most challenging of times. It’s a true testament to our great team and the culture we have built together.

Thank you Team Deltek, for all that you do to keep Deltek a great place to work.
