Government Contracting Firm Sentar Marks One Year Milestone with Deltek
Small business government contractor implemented Deltek solutions as its system of record in three months; since then has increased compliance, cash flow and visibility into firm-wide metrics
Nashville, TN – October 25, 2017 - Deltek, the leading global provider of enterprise software and solutions for project-based businesses, today announced that Sentar, a small women-owned government contractor, has marked its one-year milestone with Deltek solutions. Sentar has implemented Deltek’s government contracting solution for small and midsize businesses (SMB), Costpoint Foundations – along with Talent management, Capture Management, Analytics and GovWin IQ – to round out the entire project lifecycle for government contractors.
With limited operations staff and the need to be government-compliant, Sentar sought to implement a system that could help them be more efficient and streamline their business processes. With the help of Deltek Partner, Redstone Government Consulting in Huntsville, Alabama, and Sentar’s own accounting and contracts staff, the firm was able to implement and become fully operational with Deltek Time Collection and Costpoint Foundations in less than three months.
Since then, its firm has seen the benefits of Deltek Costpoint Foundations. The fully integrated business system allows Sentar to produce the reports it needs to manage its business and make good business decisions. Deltek also allows Sentar to meet compliance requirements as a government contractor, including DCAA. Sentar has been able to automate its billing system to improve cash flow, produce project status reports for program managers, reduce the number of spreadsheets and manual processes, and efficiently close each month by the 15th. Due to the company’s success, Sentar was also recently named a finalist for the Deltek Insight Project Excellence Awards, in the Innovation category.
“After looking at other systems, we chose Deltek because it provides Sentar with a fully integrated system that includes recruiting, onboarding, accounting, people management, Time & Expense, project management, cash management, reporting, CRM and business pipeline solutions,” said Sentar VP of Operations, Sharon Yalowitz. “The system we had in place was not equipped to handle Sentar’s growth. We now generate and distribute timely and accurate financial reports from the Deltek system.”
“At Deltek, we are always thrilled to welcome new companies to the family, but the true success for us is seeing the ROI our customers get from using Deltek,” said Claus Thorsgaard, EVP of Deltek Sales. “Government contractors in the small business space face fierce competition – and we give our clients all the advantages to win and close more business by allowing them to work smarter, not harder.”
