Senior VP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
As Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Rob Walton is responsible for managing all aspects of Deltek’s global legal functions, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, compliance, litigation, employment, insurance, intellectual property, and corporate governance. Prior to becoming General Counsel, Rob was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Deltek. He joined the company in June 2011.
Rob has worked over 20 years in legal and management roles spanning in-house, law firm and non-profit experience. Prior to joining Deltek, he was Senior Policy Director at Transparency International-USA, an anti-corruption, non-governmental organization. Rob also served as a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at BearingPoint, and as a Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Cable & Wireless. Rob was an attorney in private practice in Washington, D.C., at the firms Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering and Cole, Raywid & Braverman. He also was a co-founder and principal with VistaLaw International, a firm of attorneys with broad in-house and law firm experience providing legal support and advice to international companies.
Rob earned his bachelor’s degree at Harvard and his law degree from Boston University School of Law. Between college and law school, he spent a year at the University of Durham, England, as a Rotary Foundation Scholar.
Outside of Deltek, Rob serves on the board of directors of the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., which has been developing and producing new and cutting edge plays since 1980.
