During the opening general session, the event host, Mike Robbins, sat down with Deltek President & CEO, Mike Corkery to discuss innovation progress since last year’s conference and what the future holds for Deltek Project Nation.

Throughout their conversation, the pair covered a variety of topics and addressed questions from the audience touching on innovation, product progress, the Cloud and how the company has grown in the past decade under Mike’s leadership. Here is a summary of what they discussed.

Key Takeaways:

1. It’s All About Purposeful Innovation

Technology is constantly evolving, impacting the future of business and how Deltek delivers products. Deltek is delivering significant new features across virtually every product in its solution portfolio. Deltek continues to place a big focus on purposeful innovation, incorporating emerging trends and interesting technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to enhance the customer experience. Many of these technologies have already been integrated into the existing product portfolio while others will be released in 2020 and beyond. Mike told Insight conference attendees about Deltek’s latest marketplace partnership with UiPath and Alirrium as part of innovation efforts in the RPA area.

Deltek is also changing its approach to software delivery with the goal of fewer defects when the code is written. That means the company will need to spend less time on defect repair and more time delivering quality software with innovative features. By adopting the latest code quality deployment strategies, Deltek is excited about the progress being made and is seeing customers getting the payoff as a direct result of these changes.

2. Customer Experience is at the Heart of Deltek’s Strategy

Deltek is focused on customer centricity, now more than ever, creating a differentiator versus its competitors. Putting the customer first is everyone’s responsibility, so much that part of each Deltek employee’s compensation is tied to customer engagement metrics. As a result of this ongoing commitment, Deltek has been recognized for outstanding customer service by J.D. Power for the past two years.

Deltek continues to operate by the “four easys”, which include being easy to access, easy to use, easy to understand and easy to do business with. Customer Advisory Councils, Quarterly Town Hall Meetings and Customer Engagement Surveys are just a few of the ways that Deltek customers can directly engage with #TeamDeltek to give feedback on products.
