Getting the Most Out of the New Costpoint Business Intelligence Dashboards
Do your dashboards reveal everything you need to know about your projects? Or, is it inflexible and cumbersome to capture the necessary information to answer critical business questions quickly and accurately? To achieve project success and profitability, it is imperative that organizations are not limited by their dashboard capabilities and that users have access to data anytime, anywhere.
New Drillable Executive Dashboards
Through the power of the dashboard, users can securely create and share analytics dashboards with the enhanced capabilities of Costpoint Enterprise Reporting (CER) v.7.2.3. The Executive Dashboards act as a one stop shop, where users can import data from various areas within Costpoint for analysis. In addition, this new and intuitive version easily allows end-users to make edits to the reports and dashboards as needed.
In many cases, users need access to general information that provides a broad overview across the organization – they do not always need the nitty-gritty details, rather a simplified overview would suffice. With CER 7.2.3, users have the ability to run reports by the owning organization, project type, profit by project, and project manager – this provides clear visibility all through a single dashboard in just a few clicks without going down to the granular level.
CER 7.2.3’s Executive Dashboards have the ability to drill down through various navigation paths, through the hierarchy to show the fine details of projects, people, and costs. Additionally, users can create and add their own unique navigation paths, simply by dragging and dropping projects onto the dashboard. This is a great benefit because users now have access to more information than ever before, right at their fingertips.
Project Level Data
The flexibility of the Executive Dashboard allows for ease and creativity when reporting, while enhancing the project management process. With CER 7.2.3’s dashboards, users can more accurately monitor their projects and profitability, with minimal effort.
One of the great features of v. 7.2.3 is the ability to see tasks associated with individual projects – breaking down the bill rates and costs, which helps users determine the potential root of the problem (i.e. over spending) so the issue can be addressed as quickly as possible.
Additionally, users can customize their project reports with a variety visualization options to best fit their needs at that time. For example, if one prefers conducting project analysis through bar charts, users can drag and drop the bar chart image to customize their project reports (i.e. project actual amount, period load target amount, and period revenue amount). Users can also show the project value numbers through visualization properties and calculate the average cost rate of a particular employee.
Company-wide, Real-time Analysis
CER v. 7.2.3 gives users the capability to view their data in real-time, to conduct a more accurate project analysis. Through this enhanced version, users can set their dashboard to “relative time” to reveal the current period, without having to tell the system (i.e. Fiscal Year End) – bettering the user experience with even more data intelligence. The relative time setting shows users where people are working, along with the project classification to see where employees are spending the majority of their time and in which department. This helps control direct and indirect costs within an organization.
Save yourself time and energy by upgrading to CER v. 7.2.3, where you can drill down and through your data, make data selections, use, or update existing charts, or add tabs and content to your dashboards.
