December ended the calendar year with a bang. Solicitations were only slightly down from November, by 3.63%, compared to the larger declines seen earlier in the quarter.
July continued the trend of decreasing solicitations, with a seven percent decrease compared to June. Professional Services was the higher of the primary requirements, accounting for just about 70 percent of the solicitations released.
The third quarter of 2015 began with an unusual slump in solicitations released in the general government services market, compared to June. In years past, Q2 and Q3 have seen spikes in bid activity; however, July saw a 10 percent decrease in general government solicitations released. Seventy-one percent of the solicitations released related to professional services, and more than half of the bids fell under the education vertical.
