5 Reasons Spec Writers Should Attend Deltek Insight 2020
Deltek’s Insight virtual conference will be more flexible than ever and have a robust session track dedicated to specification writers, BIM managers and building product manufacturers.
For over a decade, Deltek has hosted an annual user conference, Deltek Insight, to educate and entertain our client base. From powerful keynote speakers, to networking, to in-depth product session – each year has brought new and exciting experiences to Deltek Project Nation.
It comes as no surprise that, like all events and experiences occurring this year, Deltek Insight 2020 has gone completely virtual. Although we would love to be meeting with our customers in-person, we’re thrilled that hosting a virtual conference means we can extend the invitation beyond our client base and welcome a larger audience than ever before – at no cost to attendees. Additionally, a virtual conference means content can be consumed on more flexible terms and sessions can be accessed on-demand for registrants until the end of the year.
What’s in it for Spec Writers, BIM Managers and Technical Designers?
The Deltek Architecture Engineering & Construction team is looking forward to welcoming more members of the building project lifecycle to Insight this year. There is truly something for everyone -- even design professionals who do not currently use a Deltek product in their day-to-day workflow.
Here are five reasons for specification writers, in particular, to attend:
1. Hear from your peers at other design firms,
In panel discussion “Breaking Specifications out of its Silos,” (SpSo-02) we’ll address the AEC’s industry lag when it comes to adopting new technologies and share insights on how project stakeholders can collaborate better in early stages of design.
Jeffrey Potter, Specifications Writer at HMC Architects
Fernand Ricard, VP at CallisonRTKL
Frank Sturniolo, SVP at Cannon Design
Chris Metropulos, Sr. Product Manager at Deltek
2. Hear from building product manufacturers colleagues
In a panel discussion “How AE Firms and BPMs Can Work Collaboratively to Build Better Projects,” (SpSo-03) hear directly from manufacturers on how they’re adding value at various stages of the building project lifecycle. We’ll discuss barriers to providing education to designers and explore effective strategies for having better interaction during product research.
Brad Vrana, Architectural Sales Manager at Clark Dietrich
Brian Joyce, Commercial Specification Manager at PPG
Tim Nass, VP of Sales at SaftiFirst
John Sharp, Product Director at Deltek
3. Get an exclusive preview of Deltek’s next-generation specification management platform
Learn why Deltek is embarking on a revolutionary new product platform for cloud-based specification management and product research. Specpoint will draw together the best specification content and product data and allow for seamless collaboration between designers and manufacturers.
Hear from Deltek’s Gilles Letourneau, John Sharp and Denise McDaniel on why AE firms and manufacturers will benefit from streamlined product selection decision-making, and why Specpoint will connect building project stakeholders like never before.
4. See a different side of your industry peers during “Deltek Project Nation’s Got Talent”
Deltek is handing over the Insight mic to you as part its annual tradition to showcase Deltek Project Nation talent. Share your incredible talent for a chance to win a $2,500 cash prize. Plus, a $2,500 donation will be made to your choice of Deltek-supported charities.
Whether you are a singer, comedian, dancer or anything in-between – this is a chance to have some fun and share your skills with a group of peers and like-minded industry professionals in virtual hang-out setting.
For details on how to enter the contest, visit the Deltek Insight site.
5. Take a break from your home office routine and invest in your professional development
2020 has shaken up work-life balance, continuing education, industry events and so much more. Given the lack of normalcy in our day-to-day working lives, it’s important to find opportunities to break out of the routine and hear from different voices in the industry.
We’ve committed to making Deltek Insight 2020 a memorable experience filled with opportunities for human connection, education and personal development. We will hear from keynote speaker Dr. Shirley Davis who will drive a discussion on diversity, growth and the changing nature of our workforce. We will also hear form Mike Robbins, author and leadership expert. He will share insights on managing stress and remaining resilient during public health and social unrest.
To read more about the value of gathering together virtually, hear from Deltek’s Chief Marketing Officer, Perry Hardt in his latest blog: Connecting Through the Fourth Wall at Deltek’s Virtual Insight Conference.
