Deltek Excel Connect streamlines and simplifies data transfer from Microsoft^® Excel into Deltek wInsight, or into any other ANSI X12 839-compliant electronic data interchange (EDI) enabled application. Excel Connect contains preformatted Excel worksheets for the various earned value data that can be populated by querying legacy systems or by copying and pasting data. The Excel worksheets and related X12 exporter support all formats of the CPR and C/SSR, as well as other optional data, including time-phased budgets and estimates to complete for every account. Data can be loaded in dollars and/or hours.

Excel Connect automatically transfers the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), the Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS) and related structure data, such as the WBS element name, number, Control Account Manager (CAM) name, earned value type, etc., to wInsight. Period based data such as Budgeted Cost for Work Scheduled (BCWS), Budgeted Cost for Work Performed (BCWP), Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP), Budget at Completion (BAC), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and time phased Budget/Estimate To Complete (ETC) is also transferred. Once transferred to wInsight the data can be analyzed in dollars, hours or equivalent heads.
